Item Production photos of 'On the River Ganga'AR-017-0004These 4 photographs were taken at Haridwar and Rishikesh while shooting a film On River Ganga. The journey of film started from Gangotri to Ganga Sagar in West Bengal. Director and cameraman Nirmal Gupta is seen in the photo along with his team and assistants. Their film took more than a year to complete. Photo AR-017-0004-0001/2/4 show the camera crew at work on location. Photo 0003 shows the crew on a ferry boat.(circa1995)Item Adult Education Series called Sakshar Kyon?AR-017-0005These 3 photos were taken during production of a four episodes serial "SAKSHAR KYON" (Why be literate?) for the Department of Adult Education . The serial encourages rural literacy. The shooting of this serial was done in Sikar (Rajasthan). It was a docudrama in which a illiterate person is shown facing difficulties in every field of life. Finally he join classes in the evening with all elderly people aged 50+. in the end of the programme he is shown laughing and says 'meri to zindagi hi badal gai' (my life has changed). In this photo Anil Biswas a famous Indian music Composer is interviewed by Deepak Vohra and Director of serial Nirmal Gupta is seen directing them. The serial was based on Indian Classical Dance and Music. A child dancer Neha is on the set with Director and cameraman Nirmal Gupta on the camera.(1996-97)Item Advanced Level Telecommunication Training center, GhaziabadAR-017-0001This photo of Nirmal Gupta witha Camera was taken in Advance Level Telecommunication Training Center, Ghaziabad. ALTTC center erected a video studio and purchased the studio equipment. But they had no trained staff for the equipment they had purchased. At that time CENDIT was the only organization had expertise in video production in India. So they were called train to their officers and technical staff regarding equipment use and video production. After the training programme, the ALTTC trainees produced three films about the institution, with CENDIT giving production support.(1980-81)
