Description
A Marathi article by Prakash Gole, printed in the August 2004 issue of a Marathi magazine called "Navabhaarat". The author in this article strives to correct the common assumption that India is an agriculture-first country, while in reality, it is heavily orientated towards its abundant natural resources, along with the widespread mountain ranges that contribute to the microclimates. He, therefore, emphasises the need to form the economic policies of the country based on this perspective and has given detailed suggestions for such new policy, with a separate chapter on Rural development policy.
