Description
This issue includes essays exploring social philosophy and practice. Articles such as Social Justice: The Shape of Things to Come, The Welfare State and the Citizen, Science and Democracy, and Social Aspects of Altruism are present. There are also articles on Gandhi and Social Service and Bhave and the Bhoodan, which examine Indian models of non-violence, trusteeship, land reform, and grassroots social action. The later sections document campus life and institutional culture through college notes, reports from student associations, and accounts of camps, visits, and extracurricular activities, including the Bharat Sevak Samaj Girls’ Camp at Kotekar. It also includes essays, poems, and reflections by younger students. The English section is followed by a Kannada and Hindi section. This issue also has photographs of graduating classes, college and school events and excursions, and visiting professors with a couple of advertisements at the end.
