Description
This leaflet explains the life cycle and damaging effects of the rice bug (Gundhi bug), a serious pest of paddy crops in North India. It attacks rice at the milk stage, sucking nutrients from developing grains, resulting in chaffy ears and yield loss. It outlines chemical control methods using BHC and Endrin and recommends field sanitation, such as clearing grasses around bunds, to prevent infestation.
