Description
Citation and response for the 1971 Ramon Magsaysay Award for Community Leadership awarded to Swaminathan, reprinted along with a brief biography by the Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation in 1981. Folder also contains a pamphlet by the Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation summarising the awardees from 1958-1968. Also included are: a biographical sketch of Swaminathan from 'Science and Agriculture' (1980); newspaper clippings of reports by Normita Thongtham from 1985 and 1987; copies of certificates for various honours - the Borlaug Award awarded by Coromandel Fertilisers Ltd. (1979), Honorary doctorate from UW-Madison (1983), and the Honorary doctorate from the Asian Institute of Technology (1985); letter from Indira Gandhi on Swaminathan's exit from the Planning Commission (1982).
