Description
This issue is dedicated to Mary Immaculate at the opening of the Lourdes centenary year in 1958. The Annual Report 1957–58 documents major developments, including changes in university affiliation, the introduction of new degree and postgraduate courses, staff appointments, examination results, and infrastructural expansion. There are detailed month by month reports of the Institute of Social Work and the Crescent Welfare Society. Sr. Olinda Pereira gives a graphical account of her trip to Europe. Aileen Lobo writes a detailed article on Selective Credit controls by the Reserve Bank of India and a student analyses Indias Second Five-Year Plan. The latter sections serve as a chronicle of campus life and associated institutions. College notes, association reports, the activities of the Catholic Students’ Union, the Agnesian Association and the high school section. There are also photographs of graduating classes, college and school events and excursions. The issue includes articles in Kannada, Hindi, Malayalam and Sanskrit (primarily in devotional or poetic form).
