Description
The article discusses the establishment and activities of the Agricultural Communication Centre at the Agricultural University, Pantnagar (Uttar Pradesh) a pioneering initiative in science-based agricultural education during India’s Green Revolution. It highlights the importance of disseminating scientific research to rural farmers through innovative communication channels such as radio, television, film projectors, and visual aids. Supported by the Ford Foundation and the International Development Agency, the centre aimed to improve crop productivity by promoting modern agricultural techniques, the use of hybrid seeds, and soil and water management practices.
