Description
Consists of broadsheets and clippings of Rai's articles in the Hindu, the Hindustan Times and others on a range of environmental and developmental issues, such as elder neglect, dowry deaths and women's rights to choose. This includes the Green Talk column, which discusses issues such as the rehabilitation of trappers and tribals as part of wildlife protection; the efforts of the Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, as well as the growing threat to sharks in Indian waters; regreening in a Maharashtrian village; tree diversity and natural 'extreme records', a profile of Satu Hassi, Finland's minister for Environment and Development Co-operation. Also included is a TEFL supplement of the Guardian Weekly in association with the BBC World Service with a feature on India opening a teaching centre in Vietnam.
